Kelley starts the year off debuting with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in Mozart's Requiem. She will return to perform with the TSO next year singing Peter Lieberson's Neruda Songs in their Canadian premiere. The following week she returns to Atlanta and her first collaboration with Donald Runnicles for Mahler's 2nd Symphony. She finishes the month in another debut with the Kansas City Symphony again in Mahler's 2nd Symphony with soprano Jessica Rivera.

 

 

 

The season has begun! Following a Beethoven 9 with the Cleveland Orchestra and Stravinsky's rarely performed Les Noces with the St.Louis Symphony and David Robertson, Kelley returns to the opera stage in Opera Boston's production of Béatrice et Bénédict in the role of Ursule. This marks her first return to the company after the 2007 production of Golijov/Sellars Ainadamar.

Kelley O'Connor is currently on tour with the Los Angeles Philharmonic for Maestro Gustavo Dudamel's first European tour as music director. The orchestra will be performing Bernstein's Symphony No. 1 "Jeremiah" in Lisbon, Cologne, London, Paris, Budapest and Vienna. This is Ms. O'Connor's 3rd collaboration with Maestro Dudamel and her 6th time performing with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Next month a new world premiere piece by Indian composer Zakir Hussain and Ms. O'Connor's first perfomances with Maestro Christoph Eschenbach for excerpts from Roussel's Padmavati and Hussain's Concerto for Four Voices with the National Symphony in Washington DC.

 

 

 

Kelley O'Connor joins Dudamel and the LA Phil for first live transmission to movie theaters on January 9

Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Kelley O'Connor will be the LA Phil's featured guest soloist on Sunday, January 9, when the orchestra inaugurates its new series of live transmissions from Walt Disney Concert Hall to more than 450 movie theaters across the U.S. and Canada. The 30-year-old California native has become a fixture at the LA Phil in the past few seasons, having most recently performed Peter Lieberson's Neruda Songs with conductor Gustavo Dudamel as part of his inaugural season as Music Director. For the January 9 live transmission, she joins Dudamel and the orchestra as the soloist for Leonard Bernstein's Symphony No. 1," Jeremiah," a work that she will perform on a European tour with the LA Phil and Dudamel later this month. The broadcast, which begins at 5pm EST, will be hosted by singer and actress Vanessa Williams and will feature live behind-the-scenes interviews with both O'Connor and Dudamel.

The end of 2010 brings two high-profile performances abroad for mezzo Kelley O'Connor. The first, Mahler's Symphony no.2 with Gustavo Dudamel and the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar in Bogotá, Colombia followed by a New Year's Eve performance of Beethoven no.9 with prestigious conductor Kurt Masur and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra in Shanghai.

In the new year, a return to the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Dudamel and performances of Bernstein's Symphony no. 1 ("Jeremiah") in LA and on a seven-country international tour.
